Jo Crusoe Fine Art, Illustration & Sculpture
Inspired by the beauty that surrounds us, everyday passings the fundamentals of the natural world and the interconnection of all living things that are reflected in my multidisciplinary career as an established Artist and Illustrator.
My creations are visceral I rarely work from photographs, preferring to observe in the moment and capture the narrative allowing it to evolve on the surface. I work with oils, acrylic, gouache, chalk paint and inks, I mix my own colours allowing space for light and movement. I developed my own embossing technique over 20 years ago, combining powder metals and liquid precious metals to illuminate and add texture to my creations.
I also create a variety of wildlife sculptures from clay and wool, building armatures, working from memory and my sketches.
My studio is tucked away in a lovely little corner not far from the beautiful harbour of Charlestown, surrounded by bird song during the day and Owls calling at night. The coast path is a short walk away, I can even hear the sea.
You can view my paintings and sculptures here in Cornwall. At The Picture Parlour Gallery in beautiful Boscastle. Claire Harris Gallery, The Market House, St Austell.
I will be adding several new stockists over the coming months and a stockist page to my website.
My originals adorn the walls of many homes here in the UK and overseas in private and public collections.
